SKYPE STREAM
SAN DIEGO, CA
2012

The Skype Stream was realized through a collaboration between Skype’s San Francisco–based advertising agency, Pereira & O’Dell, and reMADE, which conceived the Lounge. To ensure a consistent level of detail and craftsmanship, reMADE worked alongside the West Coast Customs team on their first-ever Airstream build.

The Skype Stream is a self-contained Skype communications center, complete with Skype-enabled TVs, computers, and mobile devices. The design, materials, and detailing—including handcrafted surfaces and finishes throughout—are timeless; the effect is not only clean and modern but also reminiscent of the design period of the original 1936 Airstream, an era when people communicated face to face and things were conceived and built to last. Every aspect of the Lounge was handcrafted by reMADE artisans and the West Coast Customs crew.

The Skype Stream will tour events throughout North America and will soon be featured on the "Skype-Stream" episode of Inside West Coast Customs on the Velocity channel, Sunday, February 17, 2013, 9 pm PST.
